POSITION OVERVIEW
The Deputy Project Manager (DPM) supports the Deployed Project Manager in overseeing BravoZulu’s deployed operations. This role acts as second-in-command for project delivery, ensuring continuity of leadership, operational oversight, and support to deployed teams. The DPM is expected to step in as acting Project Manager when required, while maintaining responsibility for delegated project functions such as reporting, logistics, or team coordination.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
Canadian citizenship (mandatory for deployment eligibility).
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in project management, logistics, business, or international development
3+ years of relevant experience supporting projects in logistics, defence, humanitarian, or international contexts.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
Effective communicator with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) Security Clearance.
Ability to pass pre-deployment medical and fitness screening.
Desirable:
PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2, or other project management certification.
Experience working with CAF, DND, NATO, or allied operations.
Prior military or humanitarian field experience.
Bilingual (English/French) or proficiency in another NATO language.
Experience with contract administration or subcontractor coordination.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Project Manager in planning, executing, and monitoring deployed operations.
Assist in managing on-site teams, ensuring performance, compliance, and welfare.
Coordinate with logistics, procurement, and administrative staff to maintain operational flow.
Maintain project documentation, daily logs, and regular reporting for both internal and client stakeholders.
Monitor budgets, schedules, and risks under guidance of the Project Manager.
Ensure compliance with safety, security, and quality standards in theatre.
Step into the Project Manager role when delegated or required.
Promote teamwork, cohesion, and effective communication across multinational teams.
